Sounds familiar, for old farts like me watching it since 1990s... We've been through it all, 20 years ago RAD tools, Rational Rose, roundtrip engineering (diagrams to code and back), TogetherJ, 15 years ago Compuware OptimalJ, IBM Process server, 10 years ago Model Driven Architecture... That were all low-code/visual tools that threatened to deprecate 'coding' as activity. So many forgotten names, and so many cold graves... And yet - the software engineers who can code get six-figure yearly compensation packages offered all around - now even more than ever... Something must be wrong with the reasoning of this article.
